zuccini

What It Helps:

zuccini.

How It Helps:

  • Like other cruciferous vegetables it contains antioxidants that helps protect against diseases like heart disease, Alzheimers, as well as diabetes.

  • The antioxidants help protect against "free radicals". These free radicals can cause damage to cells as well as cell DNA. The antioxidants look for these free radicals; as they bind to the free radicals, it helps prevents the radicals from attaching to healthy cells instead (which in the long run causes diseases like diabetes, atherosclerosis, eye disease, etc.)

  • Contains anti-inflammatory properties (mostly in red cabbage)

  • Can help lower LDL ("Bad") Cholesterol levels

  • Contains lutein which helps prevent degenerative eye disease
