Propagate in the spring, by place it in a container that is just about its size (shallow). Add seed compost to it, cover with a plastic bag, and place in a warm location away from direct sunlight. Once you see new shoots, you can remove the bag and maintain its temperature of at least 64 deg. Fahrenheit.
Harvest the rhizomes in late summer (August) to early fall (September)
For an established plant separate the roots in the spring time (March-May) and plant the cutting in another container.
Watering: Reducing watering in the fall (September-November). But other than that water regularly. During summer lightly mist the plant as well.
Well-lit window, but away from direct sunlight (midday).
Container grown, prefers to be grown indoor or in a greenhouse.
