Instead of sowing the seeds it is best to divide the root and propagate that way. Do so during its dormant state in spring (March-May) or fall (September-November).
Harvest the roots from established plants of about 4 years during winter (December).
Watering: Water regularly, can use more water if the soils is well draining.
Does better in ground.
