Honey

Honey

What It Helps:

How It Helps:

  • Flavinoids found in the honey help produce a lot of antioxidants

  • Contains antibacterial properties

  • Also has anti-inflammatory properties

  • Manuka honey (a tree found in New Zealand & parts of Australia) contains all the properties as well as antiviral, antibiotic, and also helps with wound healing

Tips & Other Info.

  • Having throat pain or cough? Take/eat a spoonfull (or half a spoon if it's too sweet for you).

  • When buying Manuka honey, look at the UMF (Unique Manuka Factor) and MGO (methylglyoxal-which has to do with the antioxidant and antibacterial content) numbers on the container. The higher the UMF the higher the MGO the better Manuka quality.

  • When drinking herbal tea I usually don't add sugar, instead I substitute it with some regular honey or Manuka honey.
