  • Ginger tea is great for cold/flu. When making ginger tea take about 1 inch thick piece of ginger, put it in the water and let the water boil with the ginger (you can also add a piece of lemon in there as well for more aid). Strain and enjoy!

  • Grate a 1 inch thick piece of ginger into a cup of orange juice and drink for a boost. 

  • If the taste is too strong for you there are capsule forms as well.

Get the fresh ginger root from a reliable grocer or nursery. Fill pot with seed compost and place the root in it. Cover with a plastic bag in a warm place until you see a shoot. Remove the plastic bag and place in a warm location away from direct sunlight.
Harvest the roots in the fall.
Watering: Reducing watering in late fall (November) and winter (December-February), especially in container grown plants. Usually grown in tropical areas where it gets more than 100 inches of rain. Keep soil moist and warm.
Partial shade
Container grown in a soilless compost mixed with fine bark compost.
