Strawberry

Tips & Other Info.

  • When washing them wash them gently as they can easily bruise. Lay them on a papertowel and let them dry. Store in fridge and consume within 2 days.

  • Freeze them if they are about to spoil. Lay them on a baking sheet and put it in the freezer. Once they are frozen transfer them to a container or a ziploc freezer bag.

  • Add to a spinach or kale salad, or your fruit salad.

  • Perfect sweetner in a smoothie

  • Make strawberry jam (my FAVORITE) and add it in your parfait or yogurt.

Gardening Tips & Info.

Here are some planting tips and information if you want to have this plant in your own backyard (or front yard)

Planting Season

Harvesting Season

Pruning Season

Watering Schedule

Sunlight Exposure

Potted / In Ground

All kinds of strawberry can be planted in spring (March-May)
Depending on the type of strawberry it can be harvested in summer (July-August) or fall (September-October). It's best when picking them during the day, it will be more juicy.
During spring time you can cut away some to give room for new ones to grow and for sunlight to be able to get in.
Water well when you first plant the strawberry until it starts growing new leaves. Do not overwater when it is fruiting as it can lead to rotting and not as sweet of a strawberry.
Can be grown in containers and in ground.
