Plant in the dormant season around fall (October-November) Like more acidic soil (pH 6.5-7). They are self fertile, but you may hand pollinate them with a soft brush on a warm sunny day, when the flowers have fully opened.
Summer time (June-August)
Spring & summer time pruning. When pruning, prune down to a growth bud (not a fruit bud). You can thin the fruits so that there is a fruit every 4 inches, giving them room to grow (but do not over do it).
Feeding-in ground: Compound fertilizer in winter (January-February) about 3 oz/sq.yd. Tomato fertilizer or potash fertilizer every 12 days, during the time fruit appears until it is fully grown (about 5 liters for every tree). Plus some organic mulch to help keep the soil moist (they do not like to be dry). Feeding-potted: During the growing season, add slow releasing fertilizer. Add compost at the base. Re-pot every other year until potting size has reached about 16 inches in diameter. After that re-pot into the same pot but change out the soil and compost as well as trim the roots that are sticking to each other and taking the shape of the pot.
Full sun
In ground but can be grown in a container (use compost that is loam based soil -containing clay, sand, and silt.
