Potted / In Ground

Plant in the dormant season, with well drained soil. Can be planted in early spring (March). When choosing a cherry to plant make sure that they are self-fertile. Or you would need to plant 2 cherries and be sure they flower at the same time so they cross pollinate.
Summer time (July-August)
Do not prune during dormant season. Prune in spring (March-May) or summer (June-July). Cherries grow on branches that are 1-2 years old (except for sour cherries, they grow on new branches). When pruning, shorten the length so promote side branches/sprouts.
Likes moist soil that also drains well. Water regularly especially during the dry season. Feeding: Annually add a compound fertilizer during winter (January-February) about 4 oz/sq.yd. Apply organic mulch year 1-4, helps protect against weeds, it also helps keep the soil moist (keep mulch away from the trunk).
Full sun
In ground but can be grown in container (not pot bounded). Well drained soil
